In a complete retreat from today's thundering motorways and stress-filled working hours, the Red Lion Hotel at Clovelly reminds us all of what used to be the unhurried, natural pace of life. To wake up to the sights and sounds of the ancient, unspoilt harbour is a unique and delightful experience.
This premium room has its own balcony and twin aspect views, so you can gaze across the bay to the distant sands at Saunton or watch the boats come and go in the harbour. Lying in bed you will hear the cries of wheeling seagulls and the sound of the sea playing in and out of the stony beach below your room.
This other premium room, the largest of all, has a king-sized double bed and bay window, and shares the same very special view as the Rous Room.
But all the other rooms, like this one, enjoy either a sea or harbour view, and because of the age of the building, each has its own special character.
Beautifully decorated on a whimsical nautical theme, the magic touch of a talented interior designer is to be seen everywhere. All rooms have brand new bathrooms.

All prices quoted include VAT and are per person per night, sharing a twin or double room. Offered subject to availability. Superior rooms carry a supplement of £15 per person per night. Special rates may apply during Bank Holidays. A single supplement of £18.00 may be charged during the months of March to October inclusive. Children under the age of 5 years, sharing their parents room, are accommodated free of charge. For those aged 5 to 16, there is a charge of £24 per child per night. Children accommodated in their own room are charged 75% of the adult rate.
