Kingsley Bicentenary photos, Richard Gardner
Charles Kingsley’s Bicentenary (1819-2019), held on 12-16 June, was very much appreciated. It was mainly based on his famous novel, The Water Babies, published 1863, said to have been inspired by Clovelly.
The programme included plants and colour schemes, yarn-bombing displays, Kingsley Museum mural and story images, an actor, Bradley Brunsdon, telling stories of Kingsley’s life and his inspiration to write the novel, plus Become a Water Baby Art Trail, live music, Victorian parade and so much else.
