75th Anniversary of VE Day

Vivien Foster, Clovelly resident, awarded an OBE!

Vivien Foster, Co-Founder and President of the Merchant Navy Association, was awarded an OBE by The Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace for her services to the Association. It was set up in 1989 to raise awareness of the commitment and sacrifice of merchant seafarers during war and conflict. GOOD NEWS about the seal pup!! Ellie Jarvis

GOOD NEWS!! We’ve received the following from the charity which rescued the poorly seal pup recently found in Clovelly Harbour:  “The seal went to Penbode Vets for an overnight stay and now is in our holding unit in Cornwall waiting for a space in a rehab centre to become available. The seal is doing better and is making good progress.  ” The British Divers Marine Life Rescue.

A very poorly seal pup washed up on Sunday 27 October

A very poorly seal pup was washed up during high tide right outside Crazy Kate’s cottage and was rescued that evening. Needing treatment for a deep cut in its head, the seal pup showed signs of being an orphan and was taken urgently to a vet. Fingers crossed the pup makes it …
