Things To Do
History of Clovelly
Originally the estate was owned by William the Conqueror, King of England, gifted to his wife and then had many royal associations until 1242 when first acquired by the Giffard family. Until the middle of the 19th century Clovelly was unknown to the outside world. It was partly as a result of Charles Kingsley’s ‘Westward Ho!’, set in and around the village, that visitors began to come.

Sandford Clovelly Cider Festival
May 28 @ 8:00 am - June 3 @ 9:00 pm
The cider festival will run from the 28th of May – 3rd June.
The 3rd of June is also world Cider day and Sam Dowden will be playing live music on the harbour from 4.30pm-6:30pm with the Twerzels from 7:30pm – 9pm.
We will be offering an outside kitchen with food pairings with cider infused dishes and a selection of around 15 different ciders.
