Clovelly is delighted to have been named one of the prettiest fishing villages in Britain by BBC Countryfile Magazine, which took into
account all the villages have to offer, including restaurants, boats, hotels, museums and harbours, as well as listing some important
local history and websites to visit.
Clovelly’s car-less cobbled streets, Red Lion Hotel bar, harbour, galleries and shops were some of the recommended features.
The other prettiest fishing villages are (in alphabetical order): Beer, South Devon; Brancaster Staithe, Norfolk; Crail, Fife;
Craster, Northumberland; Mousehole, Cornwall; Plockton, Ross and Cromarty; Porthgain, Pembrokeshire; Portloe, Cornwall;
West Mersea, Essex.
